About me

Hello! My name is Miriam Matasar. I’m so glad you’re here!

My relationship to astrology began during a period of my life when I was searching for understanding.

I found myself asking questions that didn’t have simple answers—questions about patterns, relationships, and the ways certain experiences seemed to repeat or persist over time.

Astrology offered a different way into those questions.

What began as curiosity quickly became something more sustained. The more I studied, the more I began to recognize patterns—within myself, within my relationships, and within the broader shape of my life. It didn’t provide quick solutions, but it offered a framework for understanding complexity in a way that felt both precise and expansive.

Over time, astrology became not just something I studied, but a lens through which I began to make sense of experience.

I’ve now been working with astrology for over a decade, continuing to deepen my understanding through both study and practice. My background in social work informs the way I approach this work—with attention to nuance, pattern, and the complexity of each individual experience.

It also shaped my awareness of the broader systems that impact our lives. My work is informed by an ongoing commitment to social justice, including attention to systemic inequities rooted in structures such as racism, patriarchy, and other forms of oppression. I strive to approach each session in a way that is thoughtful, trauma-aware, and grounded in respect for each person’s lived experience.

This practice is intended to be a space that is inclusive, non-judgmental, and open to complexity—where you can engage with your chart, and yourself, without needing to be anything other than where you are.

How I Work

My approach to astrology is rooted in understanding rather than prescription.

I don’t see the chart as something to be fixed or overcome, but as something to be understood—something that reflects both areas of ease and areas of challenge, as well as the ways these dynamics unfold over time.

In a session, we explore your chart together as a dialogue. I may ask questions, reflect what I’m seeing, and check in as we go—so that we’re engaging with your chart in a way that feels relevant and meaningful to you.

The goal is not to tell you who you are, but to help you see more clearly what may already be present.

From that place, something often begins to shift.

Why this work?

Why this work?

Astrology, for me, is not about prediction or control. It is a way of making sense of experience.

It offers a language for things that can be difficult to articulate—patterns that repeat, dynamics that feel familiar, or aspects of ourselves that are hard to name.

And often, when something is understood, it becomes easier to relate to it differently.
